It is not yet known how many bidders have entered the fray with only Videocon, an Indian business conglomerate, coming on record with an expression of interest.The bid amount itself will be deposited with one of the franchise’s lenders, ICICI Bank, and the Bombay High Court has ruled that the money can’t be utilised by the owners without its permission. The court has also appointed an officer to oversee the sale process.Thursday’s auction will have a lot more at stake, though, than the future of Chargers and the financial health of its owners Deccan Chronicle. On trial will be the ability of the IPL model, now in its fifth year, to attract interest from potential franchise owners. Deccan Chronicle’s issues with their lenders will further complicate the matter.This is the first time an entire IPL franchise has been put on the block by its owners, although Rajasthan Royals sold a small stake in 2009 to the actress Shilpa Shetty and her partner Raj Kundra. That gave Royals an effective valuation of $140 million, more than double the $67 million the owners, Emerging Media, paid for it in 2008.Franchise valuations in the IPL have sky-rocketed in the short time the league has been in existence. Mumbai Indians were the costliest franchise at $111.9 million in the first team auction in 2008, with Chargers third at $107 million. Two years later, the Sahara group bid a staggering $370m for Pune Warriors while the now dissolved Kochi franchise was bought by a consortium for $333 million.Two years later, the outlook is not remotely as rosy. Franchises have found it is not easy to make money in the IPL. Chargers and Royal Challengers Bangalore have delayed payments to their players; franchises with multiple owners, such as Royals and Kings XI Punjab, have reportedly been looking at selling stakes to raise funds.The days of heady valuations seem to be over. Reports have put potential bids for Chargers in the range of Rs 800 to 1000 crores ($145m-182m). Going by the mounting woes of Deccan Chronicle in the past few days, potential bidders could still encounter several issues before a deal goes through.Tim Wright, the former chief executive of Chargers, won a £10.5 million legal dispute against the franchise in London in July and is now seeking to enforce that judgment through a Secunderabad court.That, though, is not the biggest of Deccan Chronicle’s worries. They owe their lenders, including banks and other financial institutions, hundreds of millions of dollars and the franchise itself is mortgaged to some of them. Deccan Chronicle are looking to cut their debt with the proceeds from selling the franchise. How much money they can raise to that end will be known on Thursday.

O técnico Rogério Micale chegou há pouco mais de um mês no comando do Figueirense e ainda não conseguiu os três pontos desejados. Em entrevista exclusiva ao LANCE!, o treinador não demonstrou desespero ou ansiedade para conseguir a primeira vitória em sua volta ao clube catarinense e ressaltou o equilíbrio do Brasileiro da Série B como a principal dificuldade para disparar na competição.

-Assumi a equipe no meio do campeonato e isso sempre é uma dificuldade a mais. Soma-se a isso o alto equilíbrio dessa série B, sempre como jogos extremamente difíceis – disse.

Lembrando, que esta é a segunda passagem de Rogério Micale no comando do Figueira. O seu primeiro trabalho aconteceu entre 2005 e 2008, quando conquistou o título da Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior e ainda treinou interinamente o time profissional.

Depois disso, teve duas passagens pelo time das categorias de base do Atlético-MG até chegar à Seleção Olímpica, em 2016. Neste ano, o treinador conquistou um feito inédito para o país ao levar a medalha de ouro nas Olimpíadas, único título que o Brasil não havia conseguido até então.

Nesta nova fase, Micale tenta recuperar a confiança dos jogadores e adotar seu estilo de jogo, porém encontra dificuldades para colocar isto em prática. Em cinco partidas, foram três empates e duas derrotas.

– Não falta trabalho e empenho nesse grupo. Estamos buscando constantemente melhorar alguns pontos para enfim recuperar o caminho das vitórias. Esperamos conseguir colocar em prática tudo o que viemos treinando e voltar a vencer já no próximo jogo – afirmou.

‘Sempre é uma dificuldade a mais. Soma-se a isso o alto equilíbrio dessa Série B, sempre como jogos extremamente difíceis’

Nos confrontos diante do São Bento, Londrina, Atlético-GO, Sampaio Corrêa e Coritiba, o Figueirense marcou apenas seis gols e sofreu nove. O ataque e a defesa não estão conseguindo atuar em sintonia, mas Rogério Micale tem esperanças para o clube retornar a vencer.

A partida pela 32ª rodada da Série B contra a Ponte Preta será essencial conseguir os três pontos. O duelo será na sexta-feira, às 21h30, no Moisés Lucarelli, em Campinas. Para animar o embate, as equipes estão próximas na tabela e o triunfo é o único objetivo.

– Vencendo. É o único caminho. Vamos trabalhar forte durante esses dias para voltar a vencer contra a Ponte Preta. A partir do momento em que voltarmos a vencer, automaticamente a confiança vai voltar. Esse grupo é muito qualificado – salientou.

Quem também está confiante, é o diretor de futebol do clube, Felipe Faro. De acordo com o o dirigente, a diretoria tem procurado passar muita confiança ao grupo nesta reta final de temporada para conseguir o principal objetivo ao final do ano.

– A diretoria tem conversado bastante com o elenco e procurado passar tranquilidade à todos. Esse diálogo tem sido importante para que possamos passar aos jogadores confiança e motivação para que eles não deixem de acreditar, de lutar. Até a última partida o elenco vai se doar ao máximo para brigar pelo acesso – destacou.

Para Faro, o rendimento abaixo do esperado no returno prejudicou o clube. Com isso, neste final, o time terá que se esforçar em dobro para conseguir a vaga entre os quatro colocados na classificação.

– Nosso returno não tem sido bom e todos sabem disso, mas teremos vinte e um pontos para disputar. Precisamos fazer uma boa sequência para encostarmos no G4 e, se der tempo, conquistar uma vaga entre os quatro primeiros colocados novamente. É possível e vamos acreditar – concluiu.

Faltando apenas sete rodadas para o fim, Rogério Micale terá que superar os obstáculos para conseguir que o clube volte a vencer, depois de um mês e meio sob seu comando. Trabalho e esperança são verdadeiros aliados para buscar o objetivo.

Denesh Ramdin, the wicketkeeper who has been recalled to the West Indies Test side after nearly two years, has set himself a stiff batting target during the England Test series as he tries to reclaim a permanent place.”I am looking to get at least three half-centuries and even a century and hopefully, help the team win,” Ramdin told . “I am happy to be back in the setup after being out of the team for so long. It feels good to be back and it is always good to get another chance at the highest level. Hopefully I can take advantage of the opportunity and cement my place in the Test team, at least for the next five or six years.”Ramdin last played Tests in June 2010, when he made only 63 runs in six innings against South Africa. He comes back after a strong showing on the domestic circuit, leading Trinidad & Tobago to the domestic T20 title in January and then being their top-scorer in the Regional four day competition, averaging 56.83 in four matches.The West Indies selectors recalled Ramdin andMarlon Samuels for the tour while opener Kraigg Brathwaite and wicketkeeper Carlton Baugh lost their Test places. Ramdin, 27, has toured England twice before and said that though playing against the swinging ball will be a challenge, the team was encouraged by the recent performances against Australia.”We did not do too badly against Australia,” he said. “We did not lose in three days and we gave them a good fight. I think we can give England a tough fight. “This time of year is very cold; the swinging ball is another part of it. Bangladesh’s proposed tour of Zimbabwe in August has been delayed by the relaying of pitches in Harare and Bulawayo, but there’s confusion over the length of the delay.Zimbabwe Cricket wanted to postpone the tour to October but the Bangladesh Cricket Board is against playing at that time because it would clash with the domestic season and the staging of the newly formed National Cricket League.”They (Zimbabwe) have informed us that neither of their grounds is prepared so it won’t be possible in August,” Enayet Hossain Siraj, the BCB’s chairman of the cricket operations committee, told the Dhaka paper . “They proposed a tour in October but it won’t be possible because we will have our domestic season at the time. So we agree to hold it in April 2013.”However, Zimbabwe are yet to confirm if the series will indeed take place next year.”We have requested (the BCB) that the series be moved to October from August,” Ozias Bvute, ZC’s managing director, told ESPNcricinfo. “This is because we want to work on our wickets and squares in Harare and Bulawayo; they have been very flat over the last few years so we want to make them livelier. We were supposed to do this work earlier but because South Africa are visiting for five T20s in June, we can only do it later.”Bangladesh were scheduled to play two Tests, three ODIs and a Twenty20 during the tour. In the coming months, they will tour Europe to play Ireland in a four-day game, three one-dayers and two Twenty20 games. There is also a possibility of matches against Netherlands and Scotland during the tour.Their immediate tour is to Pakistan, for an ODI and Twenty20 later this month.
