Remanescente brasileiro na Sul-Americana, o Flamengo volta a campo hoje pela semifinal do torneio, às 21h45, no Maracanã, contra o Junior Barranquilla (COL). Pode ser o primeiro de quatro passos rumo ao título do torneio que salvaria o ano do clube rubro-negro. O time decepcionou nas principais competições da temporada, mas tem a chance de voltar a conquistar uma competição internacional depois de 18 anos. O último troféu do gênero foi a Mercosul de 1999.

Finalista da Sul-Americana do ano passado, o técnico Reinaldo Rueda foi um dos entusiastas da ideia de dar o título do torneio à Chapecoense após a grande tragédia que matou 71 pessoas. Agora, ele tem a oportunidade de voltar à decisão com o Flamengo. O treinador sabe a importância de conquistar este troféu para satisfazer às aspirações da torcida num ano de frustrações.

– Está vivo esse sonho e serão jogos difíceis. É vital pelas aspirações que se tem e pela meta que significa um torneio internacional. Tivemos insucesso na Libertadores e a irregularidade no Brasileiro.Um bom resultado mudaria todo – disse o treinador, referindo-se ao jogo da noite de hoje.

Mesmo que a Sul-Americana não tenha o mesmo peso do Brasileiro ou da Libertadores, todos no clube garantem que vão dar tudo em busca do título.

– Estou extremamente orgulhoso de estar novamente numa semifinal, estamos cheio de vontade para conquistar este título, tem uma importância muito grande para nós. Agora é concentrar e nos dedicarmos para alcançar este objetivo – garante o meia Diego.

Para começar 2018 mais leve, sem tanta pressão, o caminho passa pela conquista da Sul-Americana. É hora de dar o primeiro passo.

Para os amistosos da Seleção Brasileira contra o Japão, na próxima quinta-feira e também contra a Inglaterra, no próximo dia 14, o meia Diego se apresentou nesta terça-feira em Paris, mas foi examinado pela comissão técnica por lá e ficou apenas fazendo um trabalho de fisioterapia na academia.

O jogador do Flamengo já havia desfalcado o time na última rodada do Campeonato Brasileiro com dores no músculo posterior da coxa esquerda e assim que chegou em Paris, o exame mostrou que o meia ainda não está em condições para treinar com o restante do grupo, que já trabalha por lá.

A situação já havia acontecido na última convocação de Tite para os dois últimos jogos das Eliminatórias, contra Bolívia e Chile. Diego precisou chegar à Granja para ser avaliado e logo em seguida foi cortado.

Para os amistosos, Diego não foi cortado e seguirá sendo avaliado em Paris pelos médicos e fisioterapeutas da Seleção Brasileira. Por conta da convocação, o atleta não encara o Cruzeiro nesta quarta-feira, na Ilha do Urubu.

West Ham United have been dealt a setback in their bid to bring Jonathan David to the London Stadium in the January transfer window.

What’s the talk?

That’s according to Pete O’Rourke, with the journalist revealing in a recent interview with GIVEMESPORT that the LOSC Lille centre-forward’s agent has claimed the 21-year-old looks unlikely to leave the Ligue 1 side in 2022, as well as stating his own belief that the Canada international will not be on the move in the winter market.

In his comments, O’Rourke said: “I think there’s going to be a big demand for Jonathan David, probably in the summer. I can’t see any move happening in this January transfer window. His agent has come out and said that he doesn’t expect him to leave Lille in 2022 and a lot of big clubs will be looking at Jonathan David.”

A previous claim made by ExWHUemployee revealed that David Moyes had identified the striker as one of his primary targets in the January transfer window, although the West Ham insider also stated his own belief that the Hammers move for David looked unlikely this winter.

Fans will be fuming

Considering just how impressive David has been in France so far this season, the news that West Ham look unlikely to be able to seal a deal for the centre-forward this month is sure to have left many of the London Stadium faithful fuming.

Indeed, over his 19 Ligue 1 appearances in the current campaign, the £45m-rated man has already scored 12 goals and created three big chances for his teammates, as well as taking an average of 1.9 shots and making 0.9 key passes per game.

These returns have seen the player who Hein Vanhaezebrouck dubbed a “phenomenon” average a SofaScore match rating of 7.00, ranking him as Jocelyn Gourvennec’s sixth-best performer in the top flight of French football.

Aside from his remarkable league form, the Canadian has also bagged a further four goals over seven outings in the Champions League and the Coupe de France – taking his total haul for the current campaign to 16 goals in 27 appearances.

As such, it is clear for all to see that the £35k-per-week forward would undoubtedly make a fantastic addition to Michail Antonio in the West Ham attack, however, following O’Rourke’s recent update, a move for David now looks extremely unlikely to be on the cards this month – something that will certainly come as gutting news to both Moyes and fans of the club alike.

India will host South Africa for a full tour, comprising two Tests and three ODIs. Though the dates for the tour, scheduled for early this year, are yet to be finalised, India’s request to play two Tests in what was originally planned as an ODI series has been accepted. Nagpur and the Eden Gardens, which is undergoing renovation for World Cup 2011, have been confirmed as the two Test venues.Kolkata, which will host its first Test since 2007, has had trouble with its floodlights over the last two seasons, the latest incident occurring in the one-dayer between India and Sri Lanka.Kanpur, Jaipur – which had missed out during the Australia series last year – and Ahmedabad have been decided as the three ODI venues.India were propelled to the No.1 position in Tests following their 2-0 series win over Sri Lanka and the prospect of playing just two Tests in the next ten months, as initially scheduled, had raised fears of them being unable to preserve that position. Gerald Majola, Cricket South Africa’s chief executive, had said the board would make space for the Tests, as requested by the BCCI, which would lengthen the tour by a week.”They [India] have requested we play two Tests and three ODIs and we are still considering it,” Majola had said. “We still have to consult with the South African Cricketers’ Association, the team management, our playing regulations and fixtures committees, as well as the board. Eddie Howe’s side will ask for clarity over controversial decisions that the Magpies suffered in their recent defeats to Leicester, Liverpool and the Sky Blues.

O goleiro Jefferson foi rendido por bandidos na manhã deste domingo, nas proximidades do Estádio Nilton Santos, no bairro do Engenho de Dentro. O atleta passa bem, mas teve o carro levado pelos assaltantes. No fim da tarde deste mesmo domingo, o veículo foi encontrado pela polícia e devolvido ao atleta no estacionamento do mesmo Nilton Santos.

Pela manhã, logo após o assalto, o ídolo alvinegro foi liberado do treino para fazer boletim de ocorrência. Jefferson foi até a 24ª Delegacia de Polícia, no bairro do Encantado, onde prestou a queixa. O clube deu suporte ao goleiro.

Apesar de não ter participado do treino deste domingo, Jefferson está relacionado e deve ficar no banco de reservas nesta segunda-feira. Para a partida contra o Corinthians, Gatito Fernández segue como titular.

Há cerca de duas semanas, o lateral-esquerdo Victor Luís foi outro a levar um susto nos arredores do Estádio Nilton Santos. No caso dele, foi um acidente de trânsito. Felizmente, também nada ocorreu ao camisa 6.

Newcastle United are reportedly eyeing up a potential move to sign Ainsley Maitland-Niles in the January transfer window.

The Lowdown: Opportunity?

There may be a good opportunity for the St James’ Park club to sign the 24-year-old next month, as The Daily Mail have reported that he is ‘irritated’ by the lack of action that he is currently getting at the Emirates Stadium.

The Englishman has not played in the Premier League since the Gunners’ 4-0 drubbing at Liverpool last month, and he has started just two games in total, only playing the full 90 minutes once (Transfermarkt).

Given that he only has 18 months left on his current deal, Mikel Arteta’s team may look at January as the best possible time to sell.

The Latest: Newcastle monitoring

According to The Daily Mail, Newcastle are now ‘monitoring’ Maitland-Niles’ situation in north London ahead of a potential swoop in the winter window.

However, Everton could revisit the interest that they had previously showed in him in the summer, and a number of other clubs could also come in if he is made available.

The Verdict: Smart move

The Magpies should be familiar with Maitland-Niles and what he could offer given that they have faced a few times in the top flight. In fact, he has won more matches against them (five) than any other team in his career so far (Transfermarkt).

Nonetheless, despite his lack of playing time so far this season, he is still a ‘huge talent’ as Arteta has pointed out, and has probably not reached his full potential yet at 24 years of age. His ability to play in a number of different roles on the pitch would also be very useful to Eddie Howe if Newcastle start to pick up a lot of injuries or suspensions.

If Maitland-Niles can rekindle the form which got him in the England squad under Gareth Southgate last year, then he would surely be a valuable asset on Tyneside.

وواصل أنسيلمو تصريحاته: “في النصر تم تجهيزي للعودة من الإصابة بشكل سريع، ثم بنهاية الموسم أخبروني برغبة النادي في رحيلي وعودتي مرة أخرى لصفوف فريقي وهو الوحدة، ولذلك قد عدت”.

Acontece que o prazo não foi cumprido e nova data foi estipulada ao elenco.

Em entrevista coletiva na tarde desta segunda-feira, no CT Rei Pelé, o lateral-esquerdo Felipe Jonatan falou sobre o tema. O jovem declarou que a diretoria conversou com elenco e tem o voto de confiança quanto ao novo prazo que, segundo o atleta, é nesta semana.

-A gente teve sim uma conversa com a diretoria, eles disseram que nesta semana vão regularizar tudo, então temos um voto de confiança na diretoria, que sempre foi leal com a gente. Eles passaram que neste semana estará tudo resolvido – afirmou o lateral.

Além de salários em atraso, há também necessidade de regularizar o pagamento de direitos de imagem do elenco. Segundo Carbone, também em declaração na última quinta-feira, o Peixe tem alguns recursos a receber e conta com eles para equacionar as dívidas pendentes com jogadores e funcionários.

O Botafogo está vivo para lutar pela semifinal da Taça Rio – segundo turno do Carioca. Nesta quinta-feira, o Alvinegro venceu por 4 a 1 a Portuguesa-RJ, no Nilton Santos. Um dos destaques da partida, Diego Souza celebrou o seu primeiro gol com a camisa do Glorioso.

– O gol vai para a minha mãe. Um gol gostoso, uma promoção daquela ali, tive a felicidade de fazer o gol, e o mais importante foi sair com a vitória – disse ao “Premiere”, destacando ainda que a classificação do Alvinegro para a semifinal, apesar de difícil, não é impossível.

– A possibilidade existe. Temos que fazer o nosso trabalho. A gente conversou antes do jogo, é difícil mas não impossível. No intervalo, soube do empate em 1 a 1 da Cabofriense. Agora, é torcer para os dois resultados acontecerem e fazer a nossa parte – complementou.
