Wolverhampton Wanderers are considering a summer swoop for Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi.
What’s the word?
That’s according to the latest claims from TEAMtalk, who report that Lage’s side are one of a few clubs looking to bring the Belgium international back to the Premier League.
The 28-year-old’s contract expires this summer and after what has been a fairly unprosperous spell at the London club, having completed five loan spells since signing in 2016, the club are ready to cut the Belgium striker loose in order to receive a fee.
According to the report, Batshuayi has “no fewer than five Premier League sides” interested in giving him a platform to prove Chelsea wrong.
The teams in question are Wolves, Everton, Southampton, Brighton and Leeds United.
A proven scorer
Having bagged 142 goals throughout the course of his senior career, Batshuayi has proven himself as a “class” finisher with his prowess in front of goal seeing him dubbed a “hero” by Football Vlogger George Benson on Twitter.
Batshuayi has seized his opportunity for regular minutes at loan club Besiktas, having bagged 14 goals in 28 league appearances. His five assists have also highlighted the creative side of his game.
With a current market value of £9m and his contract running down, Chelsea would surely accept a fee around this number, which presents an emphatic opportunity for a striker who is proven on the international stage – having netted 23 goals in 41 appearances for the Belgium national team.
We can excuse his lacklustre second loan spell at Crystal Palace last season and put it down to the Eagles’ lack of ambition up top. Though, in the context of systems, Wolves’ 3-4-3 set-up could give the Old Gold side the edge, with the Chelsea loanee bagging two goals for Besiktas against Alanyaspor in early April as a centre-forward in a 3-4-3 formation.
The two wide men in this system could benefit Batshuayi’s goal-threat to no end.
With a point to prove against a club that failed to give him a chance and his expiry fast approaching, Lage could bag his side a bargain this summer. Considering his knack for scoring goals, he’s sure to excite the Molineux faithful.

Bruno Lage’s side made the trip to Turf Moor in what was an important game for both sides, with European football still on offer for Wanderers.
It was a cagey game against the relegation-threatened but Burnley took the lead through Matej Vydra midway through the second half and held on for a priceless win.
One player who started proceedings was Jonny, as he enjoyed a good afternoon at the office, despite the result.

The Verdict: Impressive return from injury
While the result at Turf Moor was undoubtedly disappointing, Lage can at least take heart from the manner in which Jonny has returned from a serious long-term injury.
The 28-year-old has scored twice in eight appearances since coming back into the side in February, offering attacking thrust but also defensive expertise.
It is heart-warming to see Jonny back to his best after what may have been considered a career-threatening knee problem and he should continue to be a key man moving forward.

Former England international Carlton Palmer believes that West Brom striker Andy Carroll could have a future at The Hawthorns beyond the end of the season.
The lowdown: Short-term solution
Signed during the January transfer window on a deal until the end of the current campaign, then-Albion manager Valerien Ismael was hoping to soften the blow of losing fellow mid-season arrival Daryl Dike to a hamstring injury.
Since then, Ismael has been replaced by Steve Bruce and powerful frontman Dike is still yet to return to fitness, leaving a 33-year-old Carroll leading the line for the most part.
As the end of the season comes into view, Palmer has suggested that there is room for both strikers to remain part of the Baggies’ squad…
The latest: Money the only issue
Speaking to Football League World, the 56-year-old suggested that the major stumbling block for Carroll’s future is likely to be financial.
The ex-England defender stated: “Well, it depends how much he’s costing you.
“You know, at the end of the day he’s 33 now, he’s played 20 games in total this season, 12 games for West Brom and he’s played eight games for Reading previously. So he’s played 20 games in total, and the goal tally of four.
“Now, he does present a different option for you, in terms of, you know, he is superb in the air, and his hold up and link up play is very, very good when he is fit and whatever.
“So, in answer to the question, it just depends on how much he’s costing you to stay in the building.”
The verdict: Worth the risk
Despite his advancing years and previous injury concerns, the towering ex-Liverpool and Newcastle United marksman has enjoyed a new lease of life in the Championship this season.
Carroll – who was once hailed as ‘unplayabale’ by Alan Pardew – has completed 90 minutes on eight occasions for Bruce’s current side.
The nine-cap England international recently won an astonishing 19 aerial duels against Stoke City (Sofascore), evidence of an unrivalled ability as a target man and proof that the experienced striker can provide a worthwhile understudy to a hopefully fit-again Dike next season.

بيان فيفا عن ارتداء الشارات الملونة في مونديال قطر
“فيفا هي منظمة شاملة وتدعم جميع الأسباب المشروعة، مثل One Love”
يكرر رئيس FIFA دعمه لمجتمع المثلية الجنسية في العالم،
بعد المناقشات، يمكن لـ فيفا أن يؤكد أن حملته “لا تمييز” قد تم تقديمها من مرحلة ربع النهائي المخطط لها حتى تتاح الفرصة لجميع قادة المنتخبات الـ 32 لارتداء هذه الشارة خلال كأس العالم قطر 2022.
يتماشى هذا مع المادة 13.8.1 من لوائح فيفا، والتي تنص على ما يلي: “بالنسبة لمسابقات فيفا النهائية، يجب على قائد كل فريق ارتداء شارة الكابتن المقدمة من فيفا”.
الجميع يعلم لوائح كأس العالم قطر 2022، ووافقوا عليها بالفعل، للحفاظ على سلامة وآمان ملعب المباراة لجميع المشاركين وهي قابلة للتطبيق بشكل متساوٍ على جميع المنتخبات المتنافسة.

O treino do Botafogo nesta quinta-feira foi totalmente fechado à imprensa, mas teve uma boa notícia para o torcedor. O goleiro Jefferson voltou aos trabalhos no campo, e pode ser novidade no time que vai enfrentar o Flamengo, neste sábado, no Estádio Nilton Santos.
A atividade foi no campo anexo do estádio alvinegro. Já vetados para o clássico, o volante Matheus Fernandes e o meia Renatinho não participaram. O técnico Alberto Valentim ainda comanda atividade nesta sexta-feira antes do duelo válido pela Taça Rio.
Jefferson ainda não atuou sob as ordens do novo treinador. Vinha sendo titular com Felipe Conceição – por opção do então treinador, apesar de Gatito Fernández ter lesionado a coxa esquerda na pré-temporada.
De todo modo, Valentim deve ter o brasileiro e o paraguaio em boas condições para a partida contra o Rubro-Negro. Os demais a começarem jogando devem ser Marcinho, Marcelo, Igor Rabello e Moisés; Rodrigo Lindoso, João Paulo e Valencia; Rodrigo Pimpão, Kieza e Ezequiel.
